Technical and Scientific Sales Manager (US)

Location: Nationwide in the US, work from home

Status: Full-time with benefits

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Technical and Scientific Sales Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing VectorBuilder’s sales operations in North America. The Sales Manager will be out in the field optimizing strategies to maximize sales, and will be managing and guiding a team of sales representatives to implement the most effective sales approaches in the field. The Sales Manager will also take part in business development activities.

Remote employment from any location in the US will be considered. Approximately 15-30% travel based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and execute strategies to maximize sales
  • Attend trade shows and conferences
  • Arrange and give seminars
  • Visit research labs
  • Identify significant lead generation opportunities and take effective measures to attract and engage potential leads from those opportunities
  • Successfully manage and guide a team of sales representatives to implement the most effective sales strategies in the field with an objective to maximize sales and business development opportunities
  • Assess and monitor the success of implemented sales strategies to keep improvising and improving as necessary
  • Achieve sales goals
  • Report results to company directors
  • Develop strong, positive, long-term relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Provide technical assistance to customers whenever possible
  • Coordinate with other teams (production and service in China) whenever necessary to meet all customer needs
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, genomics or any related discipline
  • Experience with DNA cloning in a research laboratory
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the life science research industry serving academic, biotech, and/or related accounts
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and manage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively network
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility with customers, peers, and company directors
  • Readiness to travel and be present in the field

Technical Sales Specialist (US)

Overview:

The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for introducing potential clients in academia and industry to VectorBuilder’s web-based DNA vector design and custom cloning platform and associated molecular biology services: vector construction (gene expression, CRISPR, shRNA knockdown…), virus packaging, library construction, BAC modification, and more. The Technical Sales Specialist must develop a thorough knowledge of VectorBuilder's services and their potential research applications. The Technical Sales Specialist will actively drive sales of these services within the US market. This is a home-based position with travel to shows and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new leads through attending vendor shows, proactive site visits, walking halls, and outbound phone and email communications with potential clients
  • Follow up with leads
  • Provide outstanding service to current and potential clients
  • Meet or exceed sales goals by actively generating new leads, consistently following up with prospects, asking for business, and working with both leadership and technical departments to meet customer needs
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with all clients

Inside Sales Manager (Germany)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Inside Sales Manager to join VectorBuilder GmbH in Frankfurt am Main region of Germany. The Inside Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supporting our sales representatives’ team.

Overview:

The Inside Sales Manager will monitor sales metrics, manage the sales administration process and collaborate with various professionals through a proficient understanding of VectorBuilder’s services and products (custom-made vectors, virus packaging and other cell and molecular biology products and services). The Inside Sales Manager will lead and motivate the sales team to achieve specific goals. This role is office based with occasional travel. Success and strong work ethic will be recognised and rewarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and liaise with Territory Sales Representatives’ to generate leads to organise visits, conference attendance and networking with new and existing customers to promote VectorBuilder’s services, which include custom-made vectors, virus packaging and other cell and molecular biology products and services.
  • Assist and track sales targets for Territory Sales Representatives. Combined with suggesting and implementing improvements in sales administrative processes.
  • Report on sales metrics and subsequently prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
  • Utilise customer feedback to research and generate ideas about new features or products to increase customer engagement.
  • Build an open-communication environment for your team and liaise with Marketing department to ensure brand consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree (PhD preferable but not required) in a Life Science subject including Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, etc.
  • Previous experience with DNA cloning and virus packaging, &/or is desired.
  • Ability to work independently under little supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills together with strong analytical and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Desired but not essential: Experience in an account management, business development or sales position within a scientific company.

Marketing Specialist (EU/UK)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Marketing Specialist based in EU/UK to join a leading Biotech/CRO company, VectorBuilder Inc. This can be either a home-based (remote) or office-based position depending on experience level that requires occasional travel.

Overview:

The Marketing Specialist will be in charge of helping VectorBuilder in its overall marketing efforts. You will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion. You should be a competent professional able to grasp consumer behavior trends and generate creative ideas. Also, you must be well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics. The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will improve VectorBuilder’s reputation and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting market research to facilitate consumer requirements, habits and trends leading to development of ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
  • Assisting in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning etc.).
  • Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, etc.).
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSc/BA in marketing, communications or equivalent. Additional background in Scientific Research is a plus.
  • Proven experience as marketing specialist or similar role with thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
  • Solid IT skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM) and applications (Web analytics, Google AdWords etc.)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools desired

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing current customer accounts and developing new business across the Pharma, Biopharma, CMO and Research industries. This role is home/field based with approx. 60% travel with success and strong work ethic recognised and rewarded.

Overview:

The Territory Manager is responsible for calling on potential and existing clients in academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and contract research organizations within the territory, and meeting or exceeding the territory sales plan. The Territory Manager must become proficient in understanding VectorBuilder’s services and products (custom-made vectors, virus packaging and other cell and molecular biology products and services).

Responsibilities:

  • Organising regular visits to new and existing customers to promote VectorBuilder’s services, which include custom-made vectors, virus packaging and other cell and molecular biology products and services.
  • Further develop existing customer accounts by nurturing relationships, introducing new products and identifying new points of contact.
  • Develop new business through regular prospecting, networking and generating/following up on leads to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • As the Territory Sales Representative you will attend and network at conferences, exhibitions and seminars to increase VectorBuilder awareness and maintain client knowledge across the Pharma, Biopharma, Cell Therapy, R&D, Bioprocess, and CMO market.
  • Facilitate decision-maker level meetings with Sales Director or Technical/Scientific Staff.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree (PhD preferable) in a Life Science subject including Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, etc. A driving licence is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with DNA cloning and virus packaging, &/or is desired.
  • Ability to work independently under little supervision.
