Technical and Scientific Sales Manager (US)

Location: Nationwide in the US, work from home

Status: Full-time with benefits

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Technical and Scientific Sales Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing VectorBuilder’s sales operations in North America. The Sales Manager will be out in the field optimizing strategies to maximize sales, and will be managing and guiding a team of sales representatives to implement the most effective sales approaches in the field. The Sales Manager will also take part in business development activities.

Remote employment from any location in the US will be considered. Approximately 15-30% travel based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and execute strategies to maximize sales
  • Attend trade shows and conferences
  • Arrange and give seminars
  • Visit research labs
  • Identify significant lead generation opportunities and take effective measures to attract and engage potential leads from those opportunities
  • Successfully manage and guide a team of sales representatives to implement the most effective sales strategies in the field with an objective to maximize sales and business development opportunities
  • Assess and monitor the success of implemented sales strategies to keep improvising and improving as necessary
  • Achieve sales goals
  • Report results to company directors
  • Develop strong, positive, long-term relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Provide technical assistance to customers whenever possible
  • Coordinate with other teams (production and service in China) whenever necessary to meet all customer needs
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, genomics or any related discipline
  • Experience with DNA cloning in a research laboratory
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the life science research industry serving academic, biotech, and/or related accounts
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and manage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively network
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility with customers, peers, and company directors
  • Readiness to travel and be present in the field
