Northwest Territory Manager (US)


VectorBuilder is a rapidly growing biotechnology company specializing in a range of research products and services such as vector cloning, virus packaging, library construction, stable cell line generation, Covid-19 research reagents, and GMP manufacturing of clinical grade plasmid DNA and viruses. VectorBuilder's revolutionary online vector design platform has become popular with researchers around the world for its rich functionalities and highly-intuitive user interface. 

VectorBuilder currently has an exciting opportunity for a Territory Manager in the Northwestern United States and parts of Canada. The Northwest Territory manager is responsible for growing current customer accounts and developing new businesses across academia, pharma and biotech. Success and a strong work ethic are recognized and rewarded. This role will be preferably based in Chicago, Illinois (relocation allowance available), with approximately 50% travel post-COVID.


  • Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field
  • High self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage clients with confidence and ease
  • Strong attention to detail

Highly desired but not required:

  • Experience in account management/sales or marketing in a life science company
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques especially DNA cloning and virus packaging

Key responsibilities:

  • Increase sales within the designated territory
  • Communicate with clients via email, phone, video call, webinar, virtual product shows/conferences (and in the future: in-person meetings, presentations, product shows/conferences) to promote VectorBuilder offerings
  • Discover and reach out to new potential clients
  • Cultivate lasting client relationships 
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction levels through excellent customer service
  • Demonstrate strong product/service knowledge
  • Work closely with internal departments to provide high-level technical support and guidance to the customer  
  • Other duties as needed


  • Base salary plus uncapped monthly commission
