  • Description Enhanced Halorhodopsin from Natronomonas pharaonis (NpHR) which is fused with EYFP. NpHR is a fast light-activated electrogenic Cl- pump. There is an nAChR-derived signal peptide tagged to the N-terminal of NpHR, and a Kir2.1-derived ER export signal peptide tagged to the C-terminal of EYFP to facilitate cell surface expression of NpHR
  • Application Notes Light activation of NpHR leads to cell hyperpolarization and inhibition of firing action potentials; increased peak photocurrent compared to original NpHR; no aggregation; low cellular toxicity; maximum excitation is 580 nm; maximum excitation and emission of EYFP are 513 nm and 527 nm, respectively.
