Located in cytosol. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; integumental system; and sensory organ. Used to study purine nucleoside phosphorylase deficiency. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in purine nucleoside phosphorylase deficiency and purine-pyrimidine metabolic disorder.
