    Enables RNA polymerase II-specific DNA-binding transcription factor binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; nucleosome assembly; and regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosome. Located in polytene chromosome. Part of RCAF complex and transcription repressor complex. Is expressed in several structures, including anterior endoderm; anterior endoderm anlage; embryonic brain; embryonic/larval midgut; and extended germ band embryo.
