B18R-E3L IVT mRNA

VectorBuilder’s B18R-E3L IVT mRNA codes for two immunomodulatory proteins from vaccinia virus that alter the innate immune response, resulting in enhanced expression of other non-endogenous RNAs which can be useful for research purposes and in vaccine development. B18R is a type I interferon (IFN-1) binding protein which acts as a decoy receptor that prevents activation of the innate immune response and E3L counteracts the effects of cell IFNs to inhibit apoptosis further enhancing evasion of the host immune response. Together, these proteins act synergistically to suppress a broader interferon response and can enhance expression of therapeutic RNAs.

Experimental Validation

Self-amplifying RNA saRNA expression enhancement through co-expression of immune modulator mRNA

Figure 1. Self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) expression is enhanced through co-expression of B18R-E3L IVT mRNA. EGFP IVT saRNA was co-transfected with immunomodulatory B18R-E3L IVT mRNA, a non-coding (NC) control mRNA, or alone into HEK293T cells. The expression of EGFP was monitored for 24 days post-transfection.
